OK, time for some fact checking. First of all, 13 is only unlucky in some cultures. In other cultures it's actually a lucky number.
Second, not all cultures use our calendar. It's only the year 2007 in parts of the world that use our calendar. And even then, numerous "corrections" have been made to our calendar throughout the ages to correct for inaccurate methods of timekeeping such as the addition of a leap day every 4 years.
Third and perhaps most importantly, not even the worst-case global warming scenarios predict the end of mankind, at the very worst some moderate disruptions to our civilization and world economy--again, in the worst case. There is actually no mechanism by which global warming could possibly bring about the end of mankind, despite Hollywood fantasy films to the contrary.
In fact, in millennia past the Earth's climate has been both very much hotter and very much colder than it is now. Mankind survived those periods just fine, and without home heating/air conditioning, agriculture, or any medicine.
Unfortunately, while global warming is supported scientifically, it is fast becoming the environmentalists' version of the apocalypse, and indeed much of environmentalism has become religious in nature. When enviros encourage end-of-the-world thinking like yours, they are engaging in a type of religious zealotry that, in the long run, will only end up discrediting their movement and efforts.

t could be 28 minutes from now or 280 years from now. When the superpowers square off against each other in two camps, then come back and we'll talk apacolpse.
Until then, just think regional conflicts, wars between rump states, proxy wars and brinksmanship. If you recall the Yom Kippur War in 1973, a coalition of Arab States (Egypt, Syria and Jordan) were soundly defeated by the Israelis. That was a worse situation than the current conflict and it didn't raise a blip on the world war radar (not that it didn't have the potential to spark a global war).
The next World War will involve a nuclear exchange, how could it not. In the first 30 minutes, nearly a billion people will have been vaporised, mostly in the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan. Another 1.5 billion will die shortly thereafter from radiation poisoning. The northern hemisphere will be plunged into prolonged agony and barbarity.
Eventually the nuclear winter will spread to the southern hemisphere and all plant life will die. You ask when is the apacolypse, you are asking when will we commit global suicide. My answer is it won't happen soon because the larger superpowers are more rational than the rump states in the middle east.
Our biggest risk is an accidental launch of nukes by one of the nuclear powers.

My world, which is all that matters at the present moment, will end when I take my last breath and hopefully my eyes will close.
Till then, my reality is my home and my surroundings. Global warming is here, and I am doing all that I can to get it back under control. Even though global warming will probably continue, humankind will adapt to whatever happens. Society is always changing and it may not be the same as you want it to stay as you graduate, but think of what a little silicon chip did to change society of yesterday. You will be part of the next generation and what impact will you have on society for the next generation after yours.

It can end right now also.
It is just like the final T20 match between India and Pakistan
Your life can end right now also.
But if scientists find some way of easy living after all this global warming.......then it can go on for a pretty long time.

The Mayans have always fascinated me... but who knows. Perhaps the world as we know it will end when we all can see the world as it IS & as it should be - Rather than to continue creating that which should never be.
Ive got a question for you - have you seen much ability for change in humans? Not until they are in pain that is? I'm afraid that change will be painful, yet somehow beautiful and truly liberating for those who witness 'the end.'

Sorry, we don't get out of here till the last amoeba attains enlightenment.
Judging from the answers some of the so-called chosen people are giving this could take quite a while.
Contrary to popular belief God is not going to let us quit till everyone figures out the way to get back home.
The fantasy about hell is just a lie about God that was made up to give a few holier than thows someone to feel better than. God loves us too much to let a single soul become lost.
Love and blessings Don

I want the world to end in 1,000,000 years! When I'm already dead... cuz I want to live my life... If it ends in 2012 or 2013 I won't be able to begin my work & realise my dream... =(
Why do you ask that question? Don't you want to live your life? Think of it a second... Everybody wants to finish school and live their own life... If you have just graduate in 2013 you'll be free of severe teachers, punishments, homeworks, etc. You will now be able to do whatever you want as you became adult. Your parents won't decide for you. It's who will control your life then... You won't have to ask for your parents to buy something you want but not them as you'll have your own money to buy it... and you'll be then really FREE

It will end when it does. and what do you mean end? man wiped out? all life gone? planet explodes? universe ceases to be? and in the end, would it comfort you to anticipate such an event?
Take a line from Sinbad, "trust in Allah, but tie up your camel"
Translation = deal with what you can and leave the things beyond your control to greater powers than yours.
