I have 2 fancy goldfish and 1 common goldfish in a 10 gallon tank. So, 3 days ago I put my female betta(Wanda) in the same tank. She was fine with the goldfish...but she didnt come to the top to eat. She got her color back and began swimming around. I normally have both bettas in a larger typical round goldfish bowl. Wanda never moved and was pale in that tank. Today I put my subbmissive male Sushi in with them to perk him up. But Wanda chased him and the smallest goldfish Bronco bit his tail. He was terrified so I took him out. But...while he was in the tank Wanda was being aggressive to Bronco too. So I took her out. Now both bettas are sitting on the bottom of the tank, not moving....as always before. What should I do???????

What everyone here fails to mention is that #1, Goldfish are COLD water fish, and Bettas are Tropical (WARM water) fish. They are 2 totally different types of fish so the absolutely cannot go in the same tank.
Second, 3 goldfish (especially of the type you have) in a 10 gallon tank is bascially a death trap. And I'm not saying that to be mean. As Icequeen said, Goldfish are EXTREMELY messy, dirty fish, nicknamed "Pigs of the fish world". They will quickly outgrow this tank, and if you do not keep it impecably clean, they will die. This is just the plain and simple truth.
Third, you CANNOT put a male and female Betta together, unless it is to breed. You will have 1, probably 2 dead fish. It simply cannot be done. Females can be kept together most of the time, but not a male and female. The only way this can possibly be done is in a 55 gallon or larger tank. Then it sometimes can be done because they have room to stay away from each other.
Your Bettas are warm water fish, so they do need a heater. If the water is cold, they will become inactive. This could be why they are sitting on the bottom. They are just plain cold. Although they don't need filtration if you are going to do weekly FULL water changes, it's always better to have one if possible. Again, if you don't have a filter, you need to completely change their water weekly, using a water conditioner.
I'm sure using a heater will perk the Bettas up, unless they are sick, which I cannot tell you from here. I would suggest you keep an eye on them to see if they are exhibiting any signs of illness, and/or if after you add a heater they are still not acting right, you should research Betta illnesses and see what you come up with. If all else fails, come back here and ask more questions.
Good luck. ;o)

Betta = Yes. Guppies = Yes, but be careful. Bettas often confuse male fancy guppies for a rival because of their striking colors and fins/tail and often attack. You are better off getting feeder guppies or female guppies, or not getting guppies at all but resorting to other fish. Goldfish = No. They are temperature compatible with Bettas or guppies. No goldfish can be kept in a 10 gallon as even the smallest fancy goldfish need a 20 gallon+ tank. Keep either the Betta OR 5 fancy male guppies. Either that or keep a Betta with something like 4 Pygmy Cories.

Buy a four gallon tank and put a divider in it. put one betta on one side and the other betta on the other side. Getr them some planys. Byn the way bettas are not very active fish, so don't worry about them sitting at the bottom of the tank. also, you should have a light for your tank to turn on when they are being fed, so they no when to come up for food. NO fish should be kept in a bowl. Get a tank right away.

you have a tank that is to small for your goldfish for a start one gold fish alone should be kept in a 20 gallon tank and above,
gold fish and Betta's should not be kept together you have stressed the Betta's out and added them into a ammonia filled tank, goldfish produce to much waste ,your poor Betta's are probably suffering the effects of the ammonia from the goldfish.
put the Betta's back in the bowl not that ,its ideal Betta's should be kept in a tank with filtration and a heater.

u need to put bettas in a tank of their own. nad u should only have one betta in a tank at a tume. so each betta should be in separate bowls. and the goldfish in one for all of them.

ok....female betas arent the agressive ones males are....but the males only attack fish with larger fins or more buetiful ones. thats why they flare up there gills they will be fine to train any of them but them in a plastic cup and make it clear fill it it with the tank water and then float it in the tank it will be like a timeout
best of luck apbthefirst
