I need some ideas of what to get my fiance, who is a truck driver, for Christmas. He is a long-haul driver and is gone anywhere from 3-6 weeks, so I want to make his truck more like home. If anyone could point me in the way of truck accessories, I would appreciate it. Also, storage is a huge problem in his truck so any ideas for that would be great, as well.

They sell heated, massaging seat covers for vehicles :)....here is one link:

http://www.comfortchannel.com/prod.itml/icOid/8245,

I'm an OTR driver and many drivers' backs get sore after a long day....lots of drivers use this sort of thing either while or after a long day. If this particular one is too pricey they sell similar things at walmart, etc....they may not have a 12V car outlet plug- so if you get one with a standard household plug, make sure your fiancee has an inverter.

Bed Bath & Beyond sells sheets called "beech sheets"....they are SUPER soft, almost like silk, but much easier to clean and care for, like cotton. I know sheets aren't much of a "guy gift"....but speaking from experience anything to make the sleeper more comfy is a good thing. Twin sheets will fit most sleeper beds. Pair it up with a really nice memory foam pillow or something along those lines- I know I'd appreciate it! You could even spritz a little of your perfume on his pillowcase when you give it to him- he'll have your scent close to him when he sleeps at night....makes it a little less lonely :).

If he doesn't have an XM or Sirius satellite radio- that's a definite winner for a truck driver.

Storage is difficult since truck cabs aren't "square"...and standard square storage bins made for closets end up not fitting in a big truck. If he hangs his clothes up, maybe a space-saving set of hangers? If he's got lots of clothes, bedding, and other "soft stuff" (maybe extra winter stuff, towels, etc) you could get some of those Space Bags that help compress and store clothing.

Pictures of you, your kids, your pets, anything that reminds him of home is a definite good idea. Try to find plastic, durable picture frames designed to stick on (or that he could apply adhesive/velcro to).....anything heavy or with glass in it, would not have anywhere secure to hang and would end up broken.

Yep, I was going to say CD's; they love listening to music on those long hauls. If you don't know exactly what he wants, you could always give him a generous gift card to Best Buy or Circuit City or some other store that has a music department and just let him go nuts. Happy Holidays! Stay safe!

Books

DVD's

Air Freshener

Calling Card

At Canadian Tire they have this thing that Change your car into rudolph. Two antlers that stick out the windows and a big red nose of the grill of the car. I am sure it would fit a truck

Make him a CD of everyones favorite Christmas Songs. My dad made this for me one year and I think of each person as I listen to it. On the back write the song, name of artist and the person who the favorite song is.

Make him a Santa Hat with your picture in the inside of it and all of his family. Or have a photo of your Christmas Tree at Home with you waiting under it for him. Include sewing a calling card.

Make him a wreath for the outside of the truck on the grill.

the trucks are a little cramped for space inside, does he have a buddy you could get ahold of to find out what the inside of his truck is like ?
some trucks have room for the bed only and others have room for like a small apartment.
so it all depends on how much room he has. a picture of you,cd's,dvd's if he has a tv,a gift card.

A picture of you in there so he see your face when he feel lonely.. A cd of songs that you both like listening together. Gift card ti star bucks so he get coffee so he won't fall sleep. McDonalds Wendy's has well to get something to eat. If doesn't have a cell phone you could give him that to call you.
