Simple. This whole country is overcrowded. And it's going to get worse.

Many reasons. Over crowding (population), inflation ( the costs of things have steadily increased however the wages earned have remained basically the same over the years) Political correctness. People are so busy being "Politically correct" that they overlook inappropriate behavior. I am all for having an open mind. Being liberal or whatever you want to call it. But opening your mind so much that your brain falls out on the floor in the name of "Political Correctness" has got to stop. The break down of families. Not just the divorces even the intact families. How many sit down to a dinner at a dinner table every night. Competiveness, commercialization, self gratification, lack of responsibilty, lack of respect,
This list could go on and on. The only way that it will ever change is if we hold people responsible for their actions, we learn to respect others, put parents back in charge of their children and hold them accountable for their children. Learn to care for others and accept others. If we take these steps we will be on the road to a healthy nation again.

Town 'cramming' instead of planning and inadequate investment in the essential infrastructure to keep the powerhouses of our economy running smoothly. Our settlements must be allowed to expand or for new ones to be established in new areas, maybe replacing some of the subsidised agricultural monoculture. Cramming 80% of the population into 8% of the land is unjust. Why doesn't change happen? Look at who owns the land outside towns and cities or, in the case of corporate owners, where the directors live. I know they don't want us peasants spoiling their view but, as I see it, the people of this country used to live on the land years ago. Doesn't that make EVERYWHERE a brown-field site and a candidate for development. Of course we do not need to build everywhere but we do need to build in more places. Yes, the environment matters but we need to think about the environment experienced by the majority of the people. If we can't treat cattle like it, why can we treat people like it.

Me thinks they have been saying this since the horse drawn wagons were slowed to 18 mph sometime in the 1800's.

If you fill a place with too many people and too many automotive vehicles etc, what would you expect to be the result.

Sash.

many factors some are:

*influx of immigrants
*people that don't/can't be bothered to learn english
*lack of disipline
*poor jails providing a poor/no deterant to criminals
*an inept and corrupt government
*criminal sentancing is a joke so there is nothing stopping criminals (murder, rape, etc)

there are quite a few more reasons.
