the Coriolis effect

It explains the rotation of hurricanes and typhoons. It also explains why cannonballs don't always land precisely where you aim them. It has nothing to do with toilets or sink drains; that is a myth.

I know when you flush a toilet, below the equator, it turns clockwise. above the equator, it turns anti clockwise. Maybe the same thing applies to typhoons?
