No! They should forfeit their rights with a life sentence.

Yes, they should be able to get married. (Not sure why anyone would want to marry them though) They got their sentence and have to stay in prison. I'm not sure why you think the government should tell people what to do about marriage. According to your theory, should all married people in prison be forced to divorce? It's really the same question, only in reverse. These two issues are not even on the same page. People can be in love without the normal lifestyle of living together.

I guess I am on the fence about this. Mainly I don't think anyone who's in prison for any reason should be allowed to marry. I mean, isn't that a luxury? They should not be allowed those kinds of luxuries if they are incarcerated. Incarceration is supposed to be a punishment / negative consequence. I think if the person wants them that bad they can wait until they get out OR if they are in there for life they shouldn't get married. The polls don't got to the prisons so they can vote (for example) because they have lost that priviledge.

Would you want to live that way..........I mean without love even? Yes, because mistakes happen.
Who are we to judge........? Now there is DNA and it's freeing some of the folks that really did nothing wrong at All.
There is also a thing called compensation where they even get, in some states, as much as $50 grand because that state was in the wrong. Which isn't even anything if you have spent say years in prison for someone else's mistake that you were put there to serve. Have a great day!

of course they should be able to. they are receiving their punishment already by being incarerated. being allowed to marry is actually more torture because they can now more fully understand what they tossed away by their actions. people who murder but are acquitted are still allowed to marry (like possibly oj). furthermore if someone is released they are allowed to marry so is it fair to restrict others because their judge gave them a harsher sentence? What about the 120 murderers in dallas that were released on parole without spending a day in jail? they can still marry? here's a link if u wanna check it out. http://www.caller.com/news/2007/nov/12/newspaper-study-shows-120-texas-killers-sentenced-/

While being in prison is usually not a GOOD thing, why should it affect whether you marry someone? The idea of marrying someone in jail is odd, but has nothing to do with their sentence.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! I WAS IN PRISON FOR 13 YEARS BECAUSE OF AN ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP WITH A DRUG ADDISCT. LONG STORY SHORT, HE DID SOME CRIMES THAT I ENDED UP BEING PUNISHED FOR BECAUSE I WAS PRESENT... I CANT EVEN BEGIN TO COUNT HOW MANY WOMEN I WAS INCARCERATED WITH THAT HAD "BOYFRIENDS" AND PENPALS AND THEY ONLY MARRIED FOR SUPPORT DURING THEIR INCARCERATION. MARRIAGE SHOULD BE TAKEN A LITTLE MORE SERIOUSLY AND IF ALL OF THE ELEMENTS ARE NOT THERE TO ENSURE A NORMAL MARRIAGE, THEN THEY DEFINATELY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED. BY CUTTING DOWN ON MARRIAGES IN PRISON, OFFICIALS WILL CUT DOWN ON INMATES USING OTHER PEOPLE

Life is not "life" as you think it says. They could be eligible for parole in 10 years...in some places.

As a convicted felon there are many rights that are taken away from them. If we see marriage in this country as a legal right (as we do because of the legislation to keep it between a man and woman) than that should be one of the things taken away from them.
