Windows Vista is the best, all the way. If you update the OS to the Service Pack 2, the performance is the same as Windows 7. It is true that Vista was kinda slow in the past but its performance got better within the many updates that were made by Microsoft. Now, its performance is as good as it gets. Yet, the only thing that Vista AND Seven are a big disappointment is the damned "Network and Sharing Centre". It's so bad and so useless that I don't even think about using any sort of networking with any of these systems. In the other hand, Windows XP is much more clever in that sense but not much safe. If you really want a safe network, you shouldn't think about Windows anyway. There is a reason why most servers use Red Hat - even if it's more expensive than Microsoft Solutions.

Vista is buggy, so stay with XP for now. I think both are coming out with another SP release.
