I would like to recommend you try to 'izakaya'.
It is like a pub in England and you can find 'izakaya' everywhere in Japan.
We sometime go to there after bussiness alone or with friends.
You can eat and drink standard Japanese foods, drinks and others in there.
I am going to link one web site.
The web site provide informations of the restaurants or izakayas with English menu in Tokyo.

Almost izakaya provide one small dish when you set to the your table soon.
It is called 'tukidashi'.
Tsukidashi is like a relish and not free(maybe the price is from300JPY to under500JPY)
Maybe you know almost Japanese restaurands not need servise charge or tips,
but please understand that tsukidashi's price substitute for servise charge or tips and our coustom.

How to know cheep or expensive.
1.If many company employees in there is cheep
2.If the restaurant's outside with an auarium is expensive.
3.If the restaurand use a barker, very cheep but not good taste.

If you find a nice izakaya,I want you try to enter the izakaya.
Almost izakaya without English menu, but the staffs are friendly for travler in Japan.
Then they will do thier best for you.
So,you can eat or drink everythink in there.

I am not good at English, so this posting has worng senteces.
I would like to say sorry about it and hope you enjoy in Japan.
See you.

The Kirin City pubs are good places to go for those who like to drink the day away. There are just not many bars in Tokyo that open before 18:00, but at Kirin City it's all about the Kirin from opening.

There might be some sports bars that cater to expats that may be open early depending on what sports events are on. The Hong Kong Rugby 7s are one event that occur close enough to Tokyo time to justify a boozy aftenoon.

The Wine Bar, Asian Kitchen, Hiroki-modo-ebisu, Cafe Ratia, HUB, all these restaurants/bars have lunch menu with a lot of selection in alcohol. (They are listed as bars in a town paper.)

If you can read Japanese, then grab a "Hot Pepper." It has whole bunch of coupons inside for various restaurants and bars, so if you wanna eat and drink cheap that could come in handy.
