Loving my country - the freedom and easy living, but when there is so much left to improve (racism, sexism, wars, etc.) why are we called antiAmerican when we point out how far we have to go? Shouldn't we strive for improvement and if we aren't striving, aren't we stopping our country from evolving?!

Many people are afraid of change. By calling someone anti American they don't have to answer the often legitimate points the person makes. They don't have to think and a lot of people hate to think because it threatens their beliefs and convictions. For those people those convictions and beliefs are like a religion. Anyone attacking them even if it's only raising realistic and credible concerns or suggestions for improvements threatens their way of life. Therefore it's much easier to dismiss the questions and concerns by giving them a label than actually thinking and recognizing the fair criticisms and figuring out a way forward in a complex world.

I'M TAKING A GUESS HERE,BUT I THINK THAT YOU HAVE NEVER TRAVELED ANYWHERE.BECAUSE IF YOU HAVE YOU MIGHT REALIZE THAT THIS COUNTRY IS SO FAR AHEAD OF ANY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD,THAT IS WHY SO MANY PEOPLE CONTINUE TO SNEAK INTO THIS COUNTRY,
WHERE AS NO AMERICAN IS TRYING TO SNEAK INTO ANY OTHER COUNTRY.THAT'S BECAUSE THEY KNOW HOW MUCH BETTER THIS COUNTRY IS,NOT PERFECT,
BUT A HELL LOT BETTER THEN WHERE THEY LIVE.WHAT WE AS AMERICANS NEED TO DO IS SENT THE CHRONIC COMPLAINERS TO ANY COUNTRY OF THEIR CHOOSING,LEAVE THEM THERE FOR SAY ABOUT A YEAR OR SO AND IF THEY PREFER TO STAY THERE,GREAT,IF THEY WANT COME BACK AT LEAST THEY WONT COMPLAIN SO MUCH.THE PROBLEM WITH
THE PEOPLE WHO ARE ANTI AMERICANIS THEY JUST COMPLAIN,THEY DONT DO ANYTHING,THEY JUST COMPLAIN.IF THOSE SAME PEOPLE WERE TO LIVE IN A
COUNTRY OF THEIR CHOOSING,AFTER ABOUT A YEAR THEY WOULD RETURN
AND THE FIRST THING THEY WOULD DO IS KISS THE GROUND,AND FOR THOSE THAT CHOOSE TO REMAIN
(WHICH I DONT THINK ANY WOULD)I SAY BYE BYE BABY.
THE PROBLEM IS THAT LIBERALS ARE COMPLAINERS.THEY ARE THE PEOPLE THAT COMPLAIN,THEY DONT DO ANYTHING,THEY JUST COMPLAIN,BUT WHAT I CANT UNDERSTAND IS WHY ARE THEY STILL HERE.I'LL GIVE ONE GUESS.

I am curious about this question as this hasn't been my experience at all. Of course we want to continue to grow and evolve, however pointing out all of the problems with out trying to seek real solutions isn't very useful. So pointing out concerns is worthwhile only if you are also willing to listen and explore the answers.

If you really were trying to "improve" things, no one would complain. Often times, the policies favored by the "progressive" community are disasterous. They only make things worse.

Stability is what led the Egyptians to having 2,000 years of civilization. They figured out what worked, and left it alone

If your goal is "Utopia", you're wasting your time and energy. Some things will never go away completely due to human nature.

There is a big difference between constructive criticism and incessant whining that offers up no workable solutions.
