It is my opinion that these two words in the same sentence are an oxymoron.

Someone's a good liberal if they have a majority of liberal views and a predominantly liberal ideology. I think I'm a good liberal because I have liberal views on every issue except abortion, gay marriage, and affirmative action. Someone is also a good liberal if they're not too extreme. I don't think left-wing radicals are good liberals.

The same way we determine who is a "GOOD CONSERVATIVE".
Most people who attached such artificial political labels to themselves do so only because they've been influenced by the lunatic liberals like Al Franken or the coarse conservatives like Rush Limbaugh. My guess is that most so-called "liberals" or "conservatives' don't even know the true definitions of their chosen political labels, and would be embarrassed to see how they're manipulated by their 'media darlings' to believe in something they don't even truly understand.
So these so-called "liberals" and "conservatives" resort to childish name-calling, juvenile insults, and "me, too" bad-mouthing as a way to cover up their own ignorance as they blindly follow the lead of the propagandists to whom they're so callously devoted. -RKO- 12/01/07

I'll give you examples - Joe Lieberman, Patrick Moynihan, Paul Simon, Hubert Humphrey, Henry Jackson, Harry Truman, and JFK. Look them up in Wikipedia and you'll see what I mean.

I'm a conservative Christian who generally votes Republican. Even though I have some philosophical differences with the above named, I would enjoy (or would have enjoyed, for those who are dead) meeting and and talking with any of them.

A "good liberal" is either a dead liberal, or, at best, an oxymoron. Have a simply marvelous day.

My favorite political comment-
"Annoy a Liberal- work for a living"

I don't agree with that statement..... but a " good" liberal is hard to find.

I don 't know if Bill Mahr consideres himself a Liberal- but I like his ideas and comments.

Ditto what Penelope said!

There are good liberals that don't bad mouth their country or anyone, just as there are good conservatives who don't bad mouth their country or anyone.
