Walmart sells tires made by name brand manufacturers. It's their installers that you have to worry about.
Got new Good Year tires, but their installers over torqued 3 of the lug nuts and the next time the nuts needed to be removed, they had to be broken off.

It's Wal Mart.
Quality has nothing to do with it.
Seriously though, most of their primary lines are "private label" tires, essentially generic tires using old technology and with names you will never have heard of. Even many of their major-label lines are "Wal-Mart exclusives" and are much like the generic tires in that they are not as up to date as the equivilant tires of the same brand sold through other outlets.
Tires are not just a commodity. They are the most important piece of safety equipment on the vehicle. Don't get them at the same place you would buy a toilet brush. Go to a real tire professional.

Walmart actually does have cheaper quality tires. They get the defect tires from Michelin and goodyear which makes them cheaper, they may even be softer and wear out quicker. They give you a warranty but the warranty is very limited once you try to claim on them.

Depends on what kind of tire you are getting. They do sell name brands like goodyear and so on.

Yes, they just buy in bulk so the prices are cheaper.
