"lost forever" is a little harsh, but the teen years are when music has the most impact and good music steers you right. You can still "learn cool" after the fact through other artistic mediums though.

Many of teenagers today don't really realize what does "good music" really means.

I'd say good music is really from the 70's and 80's, when music was really "music"...without mentioning, I'm into those tracks that reminds me of the 70's and 80's.

I just hate emo songs and other mind-breaking and ear-shattering songs today...

I believe that it can take a lifetime to really know what kind of music you love. Its not overnight that love or appreciation for music comes through. It takes someone a long time to know what their taste really are. I think if you really know what you are looking for to listen to, your search can take a lifetime
