For any network based on a server system (and if you are not the administrator or IT person responsible for server maintenance), nothing you can do at your desktop will prevent them (the IT department -- and by inference, your supervisors if they ask for this information from the IT department) from being able to observe your activity on the internet.

All of the things you are doing will eliminate some traces on your desktop computer. However, as the server is the gateway to your access of the internet, you will not be able to remove all of the information that proves your activity on those job web sites. It is logged in a system separate from your desktop.

Most companies that I have worked for do not search for activity unless it involves:
1) Downloading unauthorized, large, or potentially dangerous files.
2) Access to illegal, unauthorized, or potentially harmful websites.
2) Pornography
3) Criminal activity (illegal access, data-theft, identitiy theft, etc.)

Check your internal company documentation and regulations to find out if your use of job web sites violates any policies. That will be your best guide to knowing if your visits to job websites violate the company guidelines.

Yes they can. Our IT dept can do a "piggy back" on any computer in the system. Usually it's used to find out what is wrong with a users PC. So the IT person can actually recreate the problem. However they can piggy back you without your knowledge.
You can clear all you want , delete all day and they can tell you what sites you visited and how long you were there for months.
The thing is, according to a friend that was in our IT dept, they are doing the same thing you are. Unless you make an enemy in IT, they probably don't care if your looking for another job. I read that is like number 2 or 3 on what people do on their computer at work.
Actual work is like no. 6 or 7 .......lol

Yes, there are a number of network monitoring applications (such as webspy) that are available to employers for just that purpose. Though most employers, I would think, would be more concerned with corporate secrets being sent via e-mail than an employee looking for a new job.
These applications can identify misuse by monitoring which sites are being viewed, for how long, what’s being downloaded, and by which employee.
Help to ensure the Internet is being used according to company policies such as checking time limits on recreational browsing, or confirming that restricted content is not being accessed by certain individuals or departments and /or monitor email activity and instant messaging to protect the transmission of confidential information or control non-work related communication.

it will be fairly unique in some human beings's workouts and activities; on the extra hassle-unfastened persons use, the concepts would be fairly prevalent and usual (albeit call style products) because conventional procedures are hammered out on a daily basis with the only version being advancements and updates in the risk-free practices utility and risk-free practices products. particularly I even have not come throughout the time of any new procedures however the utilities improve on an identical time as incredibly lots doing an identical issues. this could sound stupid notwithstanding it is an occasion i will apply besides (as i'm no risk-free practices professional). If workstation viruses commence floating down from entrails or turning out to be from crop circles to discover their way into our desktops, that fairly could be very alien. that may not happening, a minimum of I even have not heard of it!

The "spying" is done outside your computer, just by monitoring your internet traffic. So there isn't much you can do about it EXCEPT obey the rules.
