If I take a quick survey, I find that going out for a drink, and maybe to a club is a good night out, and people are enjoying themselves.

If I look in detail at HOW people know they've enjoyed themselves, the evidence points to the following:-

getting drunk,
being sick,
having a fight,
losing your bag/shoes/wallet/keys
being arrested,
going to casualty,
not knowing what you did last night.

Still, people will insist that they've got be able to have some fun.

An early dinner in a restaurant we enjoy

A fun concert with dancing - lots of dancing

A leisurely walk back to car or transportation

A sexy stop on the way home somewhere outdoors or in the car parked somewhere

An early breakfast of pumpkin pancakes at iHop

A chance to sleep in the next day

All of this with hubby, of course...

OR

Going to a musical with hubby and the kids and friends and listening to the music on the way there and the way back...

Good night out, loss of memory the next day.
Good night in, too many memories the next day.

Going out: either going for a meal somewhere posh tehn going to the opera, or getting squished at a heavy metal gig. Either suits me.

Staying in: a bottle of Schloer (no alcohol for me!), a home made curry, box of chocolates, and a good horror film.
