Most broadband modems have a USB plug as well as an ethernet. Do you have the device? Look on the back for the connectors.
If not try

those days (3-4 months in the past) build my abode lab, with a workstation (4GB Ram and a few twin middle processors) + 3 x Quad Ethernet taking part in cards + 2 x C3560 + 2 x C3550. before construction my lab, I did study plenty and that i found out that there is not any "ultimate answer" between ethernet taking part in cards and usb-2-ethernet. On one hand the usb-2-ethernet answer is extra decrease priced, however the hardware addresses have a tendency to overlap or blend interior and then this adapters won't artwork suitable. oftentimes that's beacause you will choose 12 adapters, so the two you have 12 usb ports interior the final case, or you will ought to upload usb hubs that could reason this hardware addresses themes. Beside this think of so which you may regulate those switches by console, and in case you haven't any longer have been given a spare router to apply as a terminal server, then you definately will use usb to serial adapters. I went for the quad card answer. i improve into fortunate sufficient to locate extremely inexpensive D-hyperlink DFE-570TX on eBay so i offered 3 of them. launch improve into that I had in basic terms 2 PCI slots on my motherboard, so I had to alter that too. PCI-E ethernet taking part in cards are thank you to high priced for me. This answer fulfill my choose an each and every thing is working striking. in case you like i will deliver you a image of my "lab" Smile

Hi there, Okay...your provider should have given you both a ethernet lead... and a usb to ethernet adapter. I would recommend fitting a pci ethernet card to your pc..get one on ebay for a couple of squid.
kind regards

Yeah it doesn't make much sense because what PC has been sold with USB ports but no ethernet????

How old is your computer????

Before you buy, you really need to tell us how old your computer is and whether it has USB.

From what you said it sounds as if you need a "USB Ethernet adaptor".

You can get these in many places, more than likely from PC World.
