Let's not forget that the Devils started the season on a tough 9-game road trip. With the return of several key players, and Marty getting back on his game, there's no telling how far they will go. I agree that the return of Langenbrunner was a big help, but I also think having Colin White back in the lineup was a big boost. Remember he was out after getting hit by a puck in the eye during a practice session. The team is also getting offensive help from many players. Hopefully Pandolfo will be healthy again soon. Go Devils!

actually I think since our great 'd' line was broken up due to retirements, & free agency... They have started bad the apst couple years then not sure if its knocking rust off, or having to gel or what. This year there was so many new guys (young ones) onthe team..That the team needed to gel more & get the chemistry going etc. So now they are in their groove (I thikn about the same time they caught on last year) & will hopefully do well.!

As a Flyers fan since the KC Scouts were born, I feel qualified enough to say that one should NEVER count the NJ Devils as down and out. Not with Big Lou running things.

I've been saying from the start that this team will be very good and make the playoffs.
They survived the loss of Daneyko, Scott Stevens, and Scott Niedermayer. They survived the constant carousel of coaching changes. They will survive the loss of Rafalski.

I don't see them getting very far in the playoffs... since they beat Anaheim in 2003, they've turned into the Dallas Stars of the East. A playoff team yes, but a playoff pretender.

Langenbrunner coming back into the lineup has proven to be the difference maker. He has had a ton of points since coming back (including 2G his first night back), and according to teammates he is a great leader. Rumor has it he will be named Captain soon.
