I know this really does not matter a whole lot, but can someone explain to me how Miami, Oh got into the championship game. Their conference record is 5-2. Bowling Green's conference record is 6-2. If you do the winning percentage of both teams, Miami got 71% and B. Green's was 75%. I just do not understand how Miami got in and B. Green did not. I know that Miami beat B. Green when they played each other, but still.......

Wow, good observation...

The MAC determines Conference Championship opponents based on their DIVISION record not Confernce record.

Both Miami and BG were 4-1 in their division but, back on 10/13, Miami routed BG 47-14 and, thereby, won the tiebreaker. Therefor, Miami goes to Detroit to play for the MAC Championship.

Because the first tiebreaker is head-to-head competition and Miami destroyed Bowling Green when the two schools played 47-14 and as ih8t4d said going to the MAC Championship Game is based on a team's Divisional record not their Conference record. That is why the RedHawks are representing the East Division in the MAC Championship Game instead of the Falcons.
