Sexual harassment is defined as any kind of behavior, touching, looking, spoken words that make you feel uncomfortable.
If you're uncomfortable you need to go to whoever is above the manager, or to HR and tell them. It's not acceptable!
It's inconceivable that in this day and age people still manage to behave like this and get away with it!

Next time the guy says or does something out of line, don't hesitate, tell him to stop it and if people in the surrounding area hear you admonish him, the better. And then go to the general manager and gripe about it. Make sure they understand that you don't seek or want that kind of attention. If there is someone higher up than the general manager, like a Human Resources Department, go there and file a formal grievance. Good luck. Chin up even though some people might say you asked for it.

Yes, this is sexual harassment. First you need to tell the manager to stop touching you. If he does not you need to contact the general manager, in writing so there is a paper trail. If the general manager does not do anything then take it a step further, find an attorney and sue. If you don't document everything the company will try to say they were unaware there was a problem.

YES, this is sexual harassment. Rather than speaking to someone about it you need to file an official complaint with HR. If you're at a small company that doesn't have a specific HR department, then you need to put your boss on notice that you're taking legal action and hire an attorney. You won't loose your job and if he does fire you, then he's in for more trouble in court. It takes a hell of a lot of courage to do this, and many women are hesitant to do so, but this behavior won't stop until you take a stand.

i think this is a case of lost puppy. your manager probably has no friends and likes to be touchy feelly. this is what you should do, try not to put anything provocative on that would entice him to do anything. the next time he touches you, take his arm or hand and push it away from you then pat him on the back. this usually works with people that don't know any better and don't realize how close there getting. This shouldn't hurt his feelings but also tells his brain to stop. And im guessing if he does not stop after that then you would have to take this to another manager. im just surprised he was not fired already. good luck

I used to be a legal secretary. You need to be firm with this manager simply saying that his actions are innappropriate and your dealings with him are strickly business.(if you can have a tape recorder going at the time---it would help you tremendously if you want to file a lawsuit) He may laugh it off and make stupid excuses. Then, you should speak to his manager and ask to have him fired for sexual harrassment. If nothing happens, you should probably plan to quit and write a letter to his manager saying why. Keep a copy of the recording, list of other people who had trouble as witnesses, and a copy of the letter. Then, you have alot of grounds to file sexual harrassment charges and win, teaching this JERK a lesson.
However, if you do not want to go thru this expensive legal mess, you need to speak firmly with your manager as I said, quit and still write an official letter to the company (professional, not emotional) so they will have to deal with a "hard copy" of what is going on. BEST OF LUCK.

Yes, it is. First step is to tell him to stop, and remind him his behavior is illegal and exposes him and the company to possible legal action. You should have a neutral witness present when you do this. Document the meeting and all incidents of harassment - date, time and what happened. Contact a lawyer and be prepared to stand up for yourself. If he's gotten away with it for this long he probably won't straighten up without a fight.

you first contact his supervisor if you are made to feel uncomfortable and it effects your workplace then it is harrassment. if the supervisor fails to act on your complaint take it to company human resourse if there is one. if you do not get immediate response contact your local labor enforcement department. you do not have to be treated in this manner and you need to take steps to have it stopped immediately. if the issue is not addressed by the company then as a last resort seek legal counsel and make them sorry they did not follow the law. law suits should always be the last resort.

Surely it is sexual harassment. Touching unnecessarily, commenting or using signs indicating sex, showing photographs of sex and even using ladies toilets by men also treated as sexual harassment.All your lady colleagues joining together taught him a lesson. Other wise he may treat your silence as acceptance. Go ahead and do the needful.
