Do NOT give him anything unless you have talked to your Dr.

Go in the bathroom and turn on the shower until the room gets nice and warm and steamy. Take the baby and go in there and sit with him for about 15-20 minutes. the warm moist steam will help break up the congestion in the chest. If it is cold in your area, do not run your furnace/heater at anymore than 70 degrees. It makes the air in your home too dry. This was recommended to me by the doctor when I had my last baby in the middle of winter. Also run a humidifier to add moisture to the air in your home. Dry warm air just breeds more germs in the winter months. Good luck, hope this helps...always worked for me. I have raised 3 kids....

Run a humidifier in the room, and if possible elevate the head end of the crib just a ibt, so your baby can sleep at an angle - which will help help any mucus drain out of his head. But do not give any meds with out a doctors approval, he is still to young for most over the counter meds. Other than that - just love on him, and he will get over it.

The majority of babies cough all the time. Unless he/she's coughing up blood, chances are there's nothing wrong. Remember, they're not developed at all, and only a few months ago that throat was the size of a hair. A few months before that, it didn't even exist!

Consult your Doctor before giving your child any medication of any sort.

Don't give him anything without the doctor's permission! And take him back to the Doc he can check him out again!
