I firmly believe that Democrats will lose in '08 unless they express views that invigorate moderates and "white guys" so left behind in their view of America, by the way, I am a liberal minded person!

I also think their support of invading Iraq, then, pulling that support, will contrubute to their undoing, in the "middle" of the electorate.

Well, I have to disagree with you. I think it's the Republicans who are sounding stale and entrenched. Among the Democratic candidates there are some serious differences especially as it relates to the war. I think Biden and Edwards and Obama to a certain extent are expressing some very bold ideas. Hillary is playing it closer to the vest as she typically does. She is running as if she already has the nomination and she's leading and I can't blame her for that.
And really if you think about what you are saying, taking a look back post WWII and looking at how dangerous the world was and looking at today, there's something to be said about taking a look at what Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson and Carter did on Foreign policy as it compares to today's very scary world. Historical reflection is not necessarily a bad thing.

I don't think so.
I received an interesting answer to a similar question as to what Democrats are offering that is different from the status quo.
I am completely unhappy with the direction the Republicans have taken the country and didn't see much difference with the front running Democrats. The news focuses on all red herring issues, as does the debates. The meat of the Democratic platform is getting no attention. I guess the public has no attention span when it comes to solutions to real problems.
Anyway, I like the platform that was pointed out by the person who answered my question. Why the candidates are not extrapolating on the party's platform is a mystery to me.
Perhaps after the personality contest they call the primaries is over with, we hear more about the party's platform.

I would like to hear something different from both parties. Its ashame that in this great country of ours the way these politicians try to get votes is by discrediting the other politicians. Instead they should tell us what they are going to do better. I agree with you that the Dems need to quit playing with these special interest groups. There are more important things for the government to be dealing with wether a certain group of people can get married and always trying to play race and class war is dangerous as well. At the end of the day most people in this country beleive about the same way as each other so catering to these special interest groups will not win elections no matter how much money they give you. If they want my vote then they will have to tell me why they deserve my vote.

Having a real plan for getting out of Iraq like Biden does should invigorate "White guys". Also, White guys who stand to get laid off from the jobs should be invigorated by the Dem push for universal healthcare. The only way for the Dems to make inroads with the NASCAR crowd would be to get tough on immigration, but that they would have to be careful not to offend Hispanics in doing so.

Well, the "white guys" you're talking about are making 800 less in real money (considering inflation) under the past 30 years of nearly uninterupted "Free-Trade," so it's time to smart up and start voting your wallet, rather than what you think is the ideals of the lying politicians.
