Little bitty bugs? Are you referring to scabies? An alternative to putting the sweater in the dryer to kill scabies would be to leave the sweater out of human contact for at least 4 days. Scabies cannot survive more than 4 days without having access to skin cells.

Depending on the fiber content of the sweater, it may not shrink. If it's wool, of course it will shrink. Other fibers may not be as likely to shrink, especially if you've washed and dried it before. And yes, high heat from the dryer will kill the little critters.

Another option would be to spray the sweater with bedding spray, which is commonly used to spray bedding, furniture, stuffed animals, etc. after a scabies or lice infestation. Good luck.

take them to a dry cleaners. the chemicals and process they use will kill the bugs and won't shrink. putting it in a dryer when dry will shrink the sweater.

Place it in the microwave for about 30 seconds and then be careful getting it out so you don't burn yourself. I wouldn't dry it because it will make it loose it's shape.
