Absolutely not! There is no evidence from other countries that state-funding of political parties prevents corruption or makes politics more honest. Politics are already too professionalised. State-funding takes this process further. Parties should have to live on what they can raise from supporters. Most of us dislike the idea of paying tax to finance political parties, even those we may vote for, and certainly those whose personnel and policies we detest. State-funding will make politicians even more unpopular than they are now...

No.
Those that are dishonest would continue to be so.
Better to leave the system alone and ensure those that act unlawfully receive a hefty prison sentence and a lifetime ban from any position of public office

Why should we the Taxpayers pay to fund the political parties, with the salaries they`re on the should fund themselves.
If an individual stands for election for his local council he has to fund him/herself so why should high paid, lazy and stupid politicians have they`re campaigns paid for by us.
WE can`t guarantee an income for ourselves in the present economic climate where firms will take foreigners on before they will employ Brits.

With the current crop that lead both parties, they have shown that they are completely incapable of running the counntry, so I have no desire to guarantee them a steady stream of income to continue their incompetence.

I do not believe in the tax payer having to fork out for political parties. I see nothing wrong in donations being provided as long as it is done legally and within prescribed rules. It is up to each party to work to attract membership and donations.

No. Funding should stay in the private sector. Caps on campaign contributions should be stronger, however.

I don't want my taxes supporting political parties when I don't even agree with their manifestos.
