Hi if you are going far, it wouldn't be a bad idea, but if you are around home and worrying about it by all means be more settled and take it with you, then you will relax. Most don't have it ready so early because they have already had a baby and the busyness stops them, you will be more relaxed next time. All the best keep well. Mother of five.

I'm 34 weeks and haven't packed my bag yet, but I have made a list. When I go into labor, I plan to stay home as long as possible, so atleast I can slowly pack my bag and keep myself occupied while I start labor. I live 10-15 minutes away from the hospital. And if for some reason I need to be rushed to the hospital or need to deliver sooner, I have my list, showed it to my hubby and I know where everything is so he can come get it or I can send someone else to get it. You wont really be using it until after the birth anyway. Goodluck and congrats
But if you live extremely far away from the hospital, then I would pack it now.

Sure, why not? Its never really too early to pack your bag. Chances are you will re-pack a few times between now and when you go to the hospital. I'm 34 weeks with #4 and haven't packed mine yet for three reasons: #1 I'm a procrastinator, always have been, probably always will be, #2 I'm scheduled for a c-section, and will probably pack the night before, and #3 I will need some things over the next few weeks which I will be packing, ie. breast pads since I've started leaking, PJs cause there is only one set that fits right now, my toiletries, and I always pack a book and some kind of crossword puzzles or sudoku puzzles, and I need to go purchase these items since I'll be done with my current book by then, and most of my puzzle books don't have very many pages left... Good Luck! Have fun packing!

It never hurts to be prepared! I packed mine with my son I would say at about 36 weeks... didn't need it until almost 40 weeks, but I was glad it was done and ready when the time came! I think I put it in my car at about 38 weeks...
This time around I'm sure I'll do the same, but I am only almost 19 weeks so I have some time! :) Good luck!

I always had my bag packed by 33 weeks... If I were you I would pack it.. There's no harm in sticking it in the trunk of the car it's just one less thing to forget in the frenzied dash to the hospital ..
When I delivered my 3rd (my husbands first) it was like a Hollywood movie he left with the bag, our 2 older children and not me... He only got 5 miles to his mom's house to drop off the older kids when she told him "Son, if you are planning on having a baby you need your wife." I was at home calmly sitting on the porch swing, I figured he would realize he forgot me eventually or he would get somewhere and someone would inform him that he forgot me...
Poor guy he was an absolute wreck, for the last few weeks he would jump out of bed if I coughed, rolled over or got up to pee and yell "Is it time?" LOL

I don't carry my birth bag around with me. but then again i don't need anything in my bag until after baby is born so in worst case senario after baby is out ill send hubby home to get my birth bag. I am one day ahead of you pregnant finally packed my bag the other day had baby's packed about 2 weeks ago. but im starting to progress so ineed to be ready. i have fast labor/deliveries luckily so waiting until after baby is born for my bag is fine for me.. then its breastfeeding, getting that high from watching your baby sleep, cry and everything else.. and then while im gettin my first baby fix hubby can get my bag just in case.. and then when he gets back to hospital i can take a shower and he can bond with baby. if it makes you feel more comfortable put the bag in the trunk of the car that you will be taking when you go in labor. but theres no garrenties that you won't go early or late.. never know.. my bags and the carseat are just waiting to be used...
*** sprinkles baby labor dust for me, and tosses it your way just in case you need it****
if you want email me at hbennett2003@gmail.com
ill answer any questions you want that i might know the answer to that is..

This really isn't an answer we can help you with...since it's more about what you feel comfortable about. If you think you should start packing up and getting ready to set your mind at ease, then you should do it absolutely! If you're still not ready to start thinking about labor then it can wait until you get closer. Just don't wait too long, especially if this is your first...you'll probably be really nervous and if you have to pack at the last minute then you might forget something.

I didnt pack mine until a few days before I went into labor...lol. I packed my sons around 36 weeks. BUt you have so much time when you go into labor that theres plenty for packing the things you need.
I think I loafed around for a couple hours before I headed to the hospital after my water broke.
