She has every rights to do so. It is her house. She is controlling her family which she has reared since their birth. You have no business to meddle. If you do,you will have to face insults also.

what do you do that makes her feel uneasy towards you? Do you behave in a way which you would not like a future daughter/son-in-law to behave? Are you responsible? Do you have a job? Do you treat her daughter right? all these things come to mind when you say that, cause you know, you can't control people's behaviour, least of all that of a control freak.
so try a different tack, win her over with affection admiration, love and respect. these things are tried and tested, fail safe. also, this need to be done with a lot of patience, you might for instance, have done something to make her not trust you, and as the saying goes, trust has got to be earned.
all the best!

OMG! she is jealous of her own daughter and YES it can happen. ask on here, u will find many ppl with that problem. Just cant accept that at her age, she dint have it all as her daughter has and she hasnt got much to do in her life so she pokes her nose in her daughter's life and yes, she is menapausal and yes, she is attention seeking and yes, she wants constant attention from her daughter and she is making your life hard coz she wants her all to herself and its liek you are taking her away from her so she makes your life miserable. ignore her and say u have a right to see the kids and you are the father and have the kids and ur girlfriend round at ur placre for a change. they have a right to be at ur place. i bet she feels lonely. is she single? tell her to get her life back on track and get a job and do volunteer work to keep her busy and gardening and an alllotment to keep her busy etc coz ppl do stuff when they get bored to get attention when they know they wont get it from no one else and to create some drama in their life. how sad.

You can not change the woman and you can't change your gf but you can talk to your gf and try to open her eyes as to what her mother is doing. She needs to realize this is her life and the future of her children is at risk if she does not teach them how to do the right thing and stand up for what they believe

Patience. When you get older, you two can (and should) move far away!
