A DELL OS CD will ONLY work on a DELL system.
You need to buy a PROPER OS CD, as the Dells are sysytem locked and check motherboard and will NOT isntall on a non DELL system

When it says boot from CD, does it say Boot with CD assistance, or Boot from CD or both... if it says something like boot with CD assistance select this option, and reinstall the operating system. What operating system do you have, and if you have windows, insert the windows operating system installation disc and reinstall this way. If this doesn't work, insert a system reboot disc and from here when you get the MS DOS prompt type in the extension for your CD drive (most likely D: or possibly E:)\setup.exe
this will allow you to reinstall your Operating System

i would suspect that u r changing the whole new pc n use back the only OLD hdd..therefore, u hv to instal back the new motherboard drive in order to stop the pc from keeps on restarting..and make a repair to the OS file by putting in OS cd..incompatible motherboard drive wil make u restart. As i would asume u wil use the VIA motherboard for the old one n da new one is different from VIA chipset.da reboot cd does not help u to instal back da drivers u need and the reboot cd wil work on ur prev motherboard ver because all da drivers in tat cd do not match wil al ur drivers in ur new motherboard

You're not going to be able to use a Dell recovery CD to install Windows on a different motherboard. You will have to buy a regular version of Windows.
