I need inspiration or ideas on what to write about. It has to be a short story, or an arguementative or factual piece (about 1200 words). Help me out here. Any ideas?

try making up a story, like the one you told your mother when you were late getting home. you know, how you were at the library and there was a murder and the police kept you there for four hours and questioned you and all your friends and you saw the murderer but it was really a bear with a rifle and nobody would believe you

Just write about something that has happened to you in the past. Something you remember that made you laugh, cry, or experience some other emotion. People like to read about interesting stuff that happens to other people. And just about anything is interesting.
