Do you have to buy a whole new computer with a built in cd burner? How much more will it cost if you can upgrade it to burn cds?

yes. you can buy a cd burner at a local swap meet for usually around ten bucks. its real simple to install. most come with a cable with an additional attachment for a seconid driver in your computer. the drive in your computer is usually set at master and you can tell as the jumper or plastic clip will be in the ma or cs position standing for master or cable select.

set the plastic clip on the cd burner to cs if the computers drive cs and sl if the computers is on ma.

then make sure youve downloaded windows media player 11 so you have a burner program and enjoy.

You just need to by another burner. You might as well by a DVD burner while you are at it. It'll cost you around $50 give or take.

Its a fairly simple process swapping out the existing drive for the new one.

Another route is to by an external that will plug into your USB ports.

The guy above my has the right idea, get a dvd burner, not a cd burner, easy to fit.
