veto beforehand just to discredit the Republicans and make the Republican appear as part of the problem?

lol Bipartisan support!
Consider this. Any Republican up for reelection will openly support popular bills to distance themselves from the president. They can do so knowing that Republicans not up for reelection will block a veto override.

The President is a big boy, i'm sure he can handle himself.

Although, your example isn't as as ridiculous as the President vetoing a Children's Health bill by saying that it was BOTH fiscally irresponsible and didn't cover enough children...and then days later asking for another 200billion to fund the war in Iraq.

If the President and Republicans don't want to be seen as "part of the problem" then they shouldn't veto bills that the MAJORITY of Americans are for, to fund causes that the MAJORITY are against.

no, Democrats are trying to pass legislation to benefit America. Republicans are doing a great job of discrediting themselves supporting a corrupt immoral President by sustaining bush's veto.
Thank you for showing how Republicans are ruining America.

They are sending bills to the White House that have received sufficient bipartisan support to pass through Congress. If Bush refuses to sign valid proposed legislation that is not the fault of the Democrats.

How can one discredit the Republicans?

You can't discredit something that had no credibility to begin with.

Absolutely..I can't believe more people are not aware of this. They had to come up with something to explain why they didn't keep those campaign promises...so they put their little heads together and said..why don't we blame Bush for this one too!
