Yes, I do believe that. General Systems Theory.
Also, if you look a Unified Field Theory, and try (I say try because I would never begin to fully understand it) you will begin to see that this phenomenon is entirely possible.
In Leadership and the New Science, a book by Margaret Wheatly, she talks about chaos theory and uses the very example of a butterfly flapping its wings and the resulting weather changes. She also talks about this in both philosophical and scientific terms, which was very helpful in understanding how this is possible.
She also talks about Unified Field Theory and the group of scientists who, right after Einstein died proved just the opposite of what he had been trying to prove. That intersection between particle and wave is very interesting to study!
My answer is probably more than you wanted, but I thought if I give some sources, you can start looking up some things on your own and understand where what seems like a silly notion is actually grounded in areas of science.

This is an update of the science fiction cliche that if a person could go back in time almost anything they did might make a change that would destroy the current world. That was part of realistic argument about whether small events were damped out or expanded as time passed.
With the development of chaos theory, the butterfly wing flap was brought up as a modern realistic/possible example of a small event that created a big result. The root of it was the realization that under chaos theory, precise forecasting of weather is not possible because we can't see all the tiny events (wing flaps) that go into making a big storm. Chaos theory specifies the kinds of effects of small events and shows that they do NOT damp out, but carry through with consequences even if we can't find the initial event and follow the consequences.

The answer is no.
The flap of a butterfly's wings will just make a storm stronger by how much energy the butterfly adds to the storm, or environment. Which is miniscule, next to zero, considering the energy in a tropical storm.
There would have to be some … huge … really huge … potential energy stored up in the environment, and that store of energy would need a "hair" trigger such that this little amount of energy could trip that trigger to release all that energy. That "hair" trigger doesn't exist -- there is nothing holding back all this potential energy from being released in the environment such that it can be released or tripped by some miniscule force.
The fact is, even though there is a lot of energy (heat) stored up in the tropical oceans, this energy is constantly being released and exchanged with the air in the billions of BTU's. It isn't waiting around for some minute force or trigger to release it. And the sun is constantly adding billions of BTU's of energy to the oceans.
That small flap of the butterfly's wings simply gets lost in the billions of BTU's of energy that are being constantly exchanged in the environment.

You might wake up some morning
To the sound of something moving past your window in the wind
And if you're quick enough to rise
You'll catch the fleeting glimpse of someone's fading shadow
Out on the new horizon
You may see the floating motion of a distant pair of wings
And if the sleep has left your ears
You might hear footsteps running through an open meadow
Don't be concerned, it will not harm you
It's only me pursuing something I'm not sure of
Across my dreams, with nets of wonder
I chase the bright elusive butterfly of love

Maybe not a butterfly, but when thousands of them flap them to gather.
Philosophically, If one voice is raised against corruption through maybe by a pen, it can lead to the whole nation, raising against the corruption, therefore a comparison. between single man and masses raising up together for a common cause.
You must heart the saying "Pen is mightier than the Sword".
Same applies here.

I do agree because I have come to somewhat grasp an interconnectedness of all things.
There is no event or even thought, for that matter, that does not in some way affect something or someone in turn. The web of existence is constantly weaving and changing, every tiny nuance will be represented in it. No one ever will be able to trace the chain of causality on any single thread of the web because no single thread can account for all that made it happen.
People seem to crave some level of reassurance in following a single thread of cause and effect, all too often creating damaging ripple effects of their own through this gross over-simplification.in a desperate need to believe in their own omniscience.
....Ooops, Now I've begun to rant, possibly creating my own ripple in the thread. Uh-oh ;-)
"...Man did not weave the web of life. He is merely a thread in it. What he does to the web, he does to himself..." (Chief Seattle c.1850's)

You mean the 'butterfly effect'? That's just an expression. It means small things have powerful yet unusual connections to others in terms of cause and effect, that theoretically anything can have an effect on anything else. Yes, I agree with that.

We have been "created" in existence because of the fact it what it is god created. If u have self assurance in god or no longer (i'm no longer a faith zealous) we've been given a existence. the means we placed it to apply is count on us and do in spite of we'd like. particular all of us have our constrained in our human means yet as long our awareness pass down from technology to technology our thoughts shop on turning out to be. nicely we did reason the earth to be somewhat volatile. nevertheless we study our errors and attempt to repair it. That why it is significant study from the pass so as that persons could make a destiny in spite of if it is sweet or undesirable. That why human have been "created" so they are able to experience approximately nature and study/pass their awareness to human beings. that's what i think of and desire it help u :) For now considerable concern in existence for us is to experience as much as attainable in our memory considering is a significant area of our existence.

how i take it is that people are easily fooled by their eyes (beauty, delicance, size) and dont stick to the reality that just in less than a second everything can change and anything can trigger that to happen, even something beautiful.
