Boy have you gotten a bunch of crap answers. Never fear, I'm here.
Capital = a big pile of money to be used in funding and expanding business activity.
"Capitalism" then is an economic system that is based on financial and legal frameworks that allow for efficient accumulation, concentration, and distribution of capital to be used in the business world. By its nature this implies there is private ownership of businesses and property, and it strongly implies there are competitive free markets -- and so in common use "capitalism" is used to describe a free market economy with financial systems in place to channel capital to where it is needed.
Some examples of capitalism in action: The whole point of a stock market is so that companies with grand business plans but not enough capital to execute them, can go hat-in-hand to the public and collect little bits of money from lots of people, until eventually they've built up a huge pile of money to spend on the business. The bond market does the same thing a little differently.
Banks do a similar thing, collecting the savings of small savers and directing those funds to business loans.
It's all about harvesting the loose cash people have and concentrating it so as to put it to productive use.

If all here in Answers were experts in economics we were getting money for this...but is a good place to know many points of view and sometimes (a few) the true...
Capitalism is an ECONOMIC SYSTEM where the goal of producers is to accumulate capital..here you do not produce to help someone, you produce to take each day more money (if you can)...This look a black idea an unwashed principle but the history has demonstrated that this is the best way by the society reach the most elevated levels of life...

This is my take: capitalism is where "capital" i.e. money is a good thing to be strived for by the common person via selling goods, services or talents. This philosophy is contrary to communism and socialism where the government takes all of the money and gives it in dribs and drabs to the common person.
I see what you mean about the definition being hard to understand. Here's the Winkipedia link anyhow.

Good luck,

If somebody is smug then by using saying Aham Brahmasmi he would make that habit more desirable. besides Brahm is an ingredient. no one would nicely be brahm, yet each physique is initially an inhabitant of the Brahm ingredient or the Soul worldwide. confident, whilst accomplishing the Brahm ingredient human beings would exchange into smug. it fairly is with the help of the fact they journey the powers of the human soul (it fairly is on the industry basically in greater information) and additionally through fact do no longer understand something fairly common and obtrusive: they at the instant are not GOD. The Soul who's named God is much greater poerful than despite they journey interior the Brahm ingredient and He (God) is continuously having that have, no longer basically in meditation. it fairly is not even one 2nd whilst God does not have the journey of being the very superb Soul while they did no longer have the journey of being souls till now accomplishing hinger information. it is so bilkul sensless to have faith the self to be God. what number Gods are there. God is a be conscious which does no longer even have plural variety. It won't manage to be suggested ''very superb Souls''. awaken YOU slumbering splendor SOULS - how are you able to suspect you're GOD? NONE individuals actual BEINGS ARE GOD NOR can we EVER BE GOD. it is so basical to comprehend. it fairly is the basics, fundamentals, fundamentals. awaken!

Capitalism is a form of goverment where the middle class do the brunt of the work to support themselves and the lazy bastards on welfare or some other form of social support, while the rich get richer off of their labor.

Legal racketeering. It's a flawed system that works for awhile then collapses under its own weight. However, it is the only viable economic system that panders to the most primitive parts of the human mind and can last for any significant amount of time.

Ashley makes it sound like a meritocracy. Under capitalism, profit matters more than people. Look at this picture.
