What does the peat smell like? How well does it burn? Do you prefer peat to wood?

I am burning it as we speak!

It's freezing cold and very wet here on the North West coast of Donegal in Ireland. It is dug up in the hills near to us. It smells great!! It has a really regular burn and goes well with wood. I love them both, the wood we get from the beaches washed up after storms. This is dried first
