I just woke up to what looks like the first real snow (meaning it won't be gone by afternoon) of the year. The kind that looks like a WinterWonderland. Has winter set in in your neck of the woods?

Same as you Debi, and it's still snowing! I didn't see this on the weather forecast last night. So far the total is 6 inches. Looks like I'm going to do a lot of shoveling today.

I can only dream and wish for snow. I am in In South East Texas near the Gulf . We had a surprise snow on Christmas about 4 years ago. it wasn't what we normally get here as for as snow goes, which is rare at that. It was 7" of beautiful white snow. My sons were in there twenties and got to make their first ever snowman. I had to make a snow angel. What a blessing it was, my Daddy passed 2 years later, so he shared this wonderful rarity with us.
It is a lot cooler here now, but not cold . Enjoy the snow, and think of all of us that don't get that opportunity often.

Yes, but for the first time ever in the highest Sierra Mountains in N.Calif. all the sky resorts are closed. Only snow flurries, there should be 16 feet or more of snow in the highest elevation, now 0. I have family there. The snow here only stays on the ground afew hours, then turns to ice. No snow and no rain means a water shortage for N.&S Calif. I hope they don't try to come up here and try to take OUR water orrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

No we don't get a lot of winter here near Galveston, Texas. A few years ago we had snow on Christmas Eve and it was the first time some people around here had ever seen snow.

I rode (motorcycle) in a neighborhood Christmas parade this morning (26th annual) right behind an antique fire truck with Boy Scouts on it. They had hooked up a snow machine on the end. I rode many feet back because it was blowing a LOT of snow. Wasn't sure how slick the road would be so I rode to one side of it.
Oh, it looks like a fairly mild winter, again, here in S.E. Virginia by the Chesapeake Bay.

It started snowing here a couple of hours ago. We are suppose to get 12 inches or more of snow by the time it's finished. I may end up stuck at work doing a double shift. I hate winter !

So sick of snow (live in Michigan). I've never been stuck in it until this year. It's been four times! I do like to shovel, though. If it would snow on my days off so I could watch it out the window but not have anywhere to go, that would be nice.

Weatherman says snow in the next 24 in Seattle. It has been looking a lot like snow for the past few days here.
I just looked out the window. It is 7 a.m. and it is SNOWING!
It looks beautiful now but I don't know about later.

It has been snowing off and on today, but will probably not stick at least not at this low level, maybe in the higher elevations. I know the snow is coming down alot more in the mountains, the skiers love it. I was hoping for snow in the morning though, tomorrow is my day off.

We've had snow barely cover the ground a couple of times here in Toronto, but nothing to speak of. The ground is clear now, although there is a trace of snow lingering on the rooftops.
