Great Gonzo (terrific name)
This is a question I discuss in my world history classes.
The simple answer is continuous warfare between the emerging states of Europe - - each trying to gain a technology advantage.
Leonardo Da Vinci's genius was applied to war in the early 1500s. Other men of genius put their talents to military advances rather than advances in the 'quieter' arts.
I did not think Jared Diamond's book was nearly as
good as "The Pursuit of Power" by William H. McNeill 1982
regarding this topic.
Military power and transport to project that power have been the keys. That is where western Europe led the way. Power leads to wealth which pays for more power in the form of military expenditure.
Japan caught up VERY quickly after 1870 - and WWII in the Pacific was one result.
China is becoming wealthy again - - AND they have learned to use modern military power.
Western Europe / America will not be in the lead much
longer.
Hopefully, compromise and peaceful coexistence will prevail.

that's kinda merely 2 outcomes in asia and africa sorry! It multiple from united states of america to united states of america. The Congo at one extreme became into shamelessly and cruelly exploited for years. The inhabitants became into enslaved, punished dreadfully for failing to make quotas and dealt with so harshly that super components became depopulated by terror ailment and punishments. Nyasaland (Malawi) fared plenty greater advantageous. It had slavery eradicated and peace became into extra to a rustic which had lived in terror. there became into little contract however the country positively lost land to tea plantations etc. not all countries had colonies, Bechuanaland did not Rhodesia did. It depended on climate, fertility and the locals. regularly the individuals became knowledgeable, wars have been decreased, states geared up and scientific centers supplied. Famine ended or became into decreased and regularly Christianity presented. some countries have been created the place 2 or greater could have existed and regularly organic divides have been skipped over. probably the ideal failure became into that independence making plans began too late. is this what you needed? desire I HELPED!!
