There's seriously a lack of coaching talent in England. For every Alan Curbishley, you have five Les Reeds. I'm not English, but I watch and support the England national team, and if appointing an English born manager means I have to see another Rihanna wannabe sporting umbrellas in the rain,I'd much rather watch paint dry. Let Mourinho have the job, he's proven he can work wonders even with big egos in the team.

Yes I think we should. When the England team loses such as against Croatia at Wembley nearly all the blame from the fans/media went down to Steve McClaren. So if the FA appointed a foreigner as manager and England went on to win a major Tournament, the source of the success would be foreign not english.

I think FIFA's rules about who can manage a national team should be the same as the rules about who can be a player. Wouldn't that make more sense in that the teams would truly be national teams?

Any country who can field a national team should have someone qualified to coach. And if coaching is so important in who wins and loses, shouldn't that be based on that country's coaching talent as well as that country's playing talent?

The current system encourages a mercenary-style mentality where the coaches will go to the country where they can make the most money and lack the passion for the national team that the players (usually) have.

So, until FIFA makes some sort of change to the rules, the FA should take it upon themselves to show some pride in their country's football coaching talent and make their own rule that they will only hire English coaches.

It's hard enough to find true English players to play right let alone the manager.

In an ideal world, yes. I would love for us to have an English manager, but on the other hand, if there is a foreigner who can get the job done and bring us some success, I'm all for it.

We should definatly have an enlish manager we are the ENGLAND football team. Investment should be made in training players who are willing and capable of managment to become managers. Its all about the money these days so it probably wont happen.

those are the final 3 English managers to win the three considerable companion and babies trophies. Steve McLaren became into supervisor of Middlesbrough whilst they gained the Carling Cup in 2004. Joe Royle became into Everton supervisor whilst they gained the FA Cup in 1995. Howard Wilkinson became into Leeds supervisor whilst they gained the League in 1992.

Let the players vote..... then who selects the players who will vote. Considering the composition of the current squad I doubt it if the outcome of the vote will produce a Brit. Probably something like a gum chewing Israeli.

Let the players vote?????? Talk about the lunatics running the asylum!!!!!! Why not go a step further, hold a national election, and let everybody in the country vote? C'mon, let the players play, let the FA hire and fire, then let the manager manage. Commen sense.
