The worst thing is that the world's last war would be fought. Money is the root of all evil and our country is now tied to China and other countries with a small thread called a dollar. Our country has no Mfg base and depends on buying our needs with worthless dollars. At some point a showdown like in the old west will happen. It will be either economic or WAR

China would immediately cease exporting to the US since the dollar value would plummet. After an extremely difficult period of financial turmoil, the United States would once again become a major exporting country and China would revert to the third world status they had prior to 1990. It would be cheaper and safer for countries to import from the United States then it would be to import from China.
By the way, if they did it all of a sudden, they'd be stuck with bonds that nobody wanted. They'd be committing economic suicide. As the US economy recovered, the Chinese and others would be stuck with bonds that were devalued due to their own stupidity, making it much cheaper for the US to redeem them.

We are already on the brink of total economic collapse. The dollar is already in free-fall. Nations are falling like dominoes to no longer accept the dollar, in favor of the Euro, Yuan, Yen, or pretty much you-name-it.
We're so used to being so wealthy and secure, but total collapse is not so out of the question. It happened before in the great depression, and is likely to happen again.
Most people don't understand that there is nothing backing the Dollar, no gold, nothing. Our currency is valued like stock in a company. If a company was massively in debt, and only going deeper with diminishing prospects and continuous bad management, what do you think would happen to the stock? Right now, the only thing backing the Dollar is the US Marine Corp, which is exactly why we have been exherting our military might so brazenly as of late.

If those who lent it want it back tomorrow. The U.S.A. would be bankrupt, The economy would fail completely.
The U.S.A was once the top dog, but since Bush was voted in, the country is now close to the bottom in the views of the rest of the world. Before, no country would dream to call in its monies, but I'm not so sure now.
