I dont think there is anything wrong with them.I like the ones that are motion lights.By motion,i mean they are chasing lights so it looks like the icicles are melting/dripping.Those are cute,and not that many around here have them.Many stick to their old Christmas Tree decorating techniques.The colorful ones are cute too.You are right tho,people dont feel the need to get creative since the biggest part of the work is done for them with those lights.Some still,despite that fact do get creative in the decorating ways.Happy Holidays,hun!

Oh yeah, that giant inflatable stuff! Those things look so silly all day laying in a puddle. LOL
I'll take white icicle lights over those inflatables any day.
