(2x+3)/2=5 - (2(x-4))/3
Right hand side = 5 - [ 2 ( x - 4 ) ] divided by 3
=> 5 - [ (2 x - 8) / 3 ] = ( 15 - 2x + 8 ) / 3 = (23 - 2x) / 3
Left hand side = [ 2 x + 3 ] divided by 2
But according to the question Left hand side = Right hand side
ie [ 2 x + 3 ] divided by 2 = (23 - 2x) / 3
ie 2 ( 23 - 2x ) = 3 ( 2x + 3 )
ie 46 - 4x = 6x + 9
ie 46 - 9 = 6x + 4x
ie 37 = 10 x
ie x = 37/10 = 3.7 ................ Answer
check : Substitute 3.7 for x in the original eqn :
=> [2(3.7) + 3] / 2 = 5 - [ 2 ( 3.7 - 4 ) ] / 3
=> [ 7.4 + 3 ] / 2 = 5 - [ 2 ( - 0.3 ) ] / 3
=> (10.4) / 2 = 5 - [ - 0.6 ] / 3
=> 5.2 = 5 + 0.2
=> 5.2 = 5.2 verified.

LHS always equals RHS
So
(2x+3)/2=LHS
5- (2(x-4))/3 = RHS
Solve LHS
It actually remains as written, that is (2x + 3) / 2
Solve RHS
{Remember BODMAS}
5 - [{2x - 8} /3]
[{15 - 6x - 24 } / 3]
Put them back together
[(2x + 3) / 2]=[{15 - 6x - 24 } / 3]
"Cross Multiply"
[3 (2x + 3] = [2(-9 - 6x)]
6x + 9 = -18 - 12x
18x = -27
x= - 27/18
x = 1.5 {Tah Rah}
