My spelling and punctuation is fine thank you i have an A* in English A level, there is no need to be rude. I simply typed out that question quickly and didnt bother about checking to see if it sounded correct and spelt right etc!

It's ok to be embarrassed - maybe in a few years (not when you are older, but when you've had your period for so long you just don't care anymore!) it won't bother you anymore. Until then, try finding a brand of pads with a "clothlike" wrapper that doesn't crinkle when you open it.

Another idea might be to just pull them open loud and proud even though you are embarrassed - after awhile you won't think about it anymore.

One way or the other, by the time it's been happening for years and years, you won't worry about it anymore; so don't drive yourself crazy about it now!

Nope, not at all! In the ladies' room, we're all human and (hopefully) all female. Girls are usually too busy doing their own business(no pun intended) to even notice if a girl walked in holding a pad, let alone the sound of a girl opening a packet.

omg ikr! I hate doing it at school but you could try getting 'purse pads' which are more compact, not as much wrapping. I usually open it up slowly in my bag, while sitting on the toilet.. or even when someone flushes the toilet. I know that all girls have them bla bla bla.. but you do get that glance from someone when you leave the cubicle :s

Yeah!! I feel the same way!! I get to embarrased when i change it because it makes a really loud sound!! I either do it really slowly so nobody hears or when no body is there! I hate it when there is only like 2 people in there because you can hear everything!!

Nah. I would be more embarrassed that I was in high school and have spelling, punctuation, capitalization and grammar skills that appear to be of the level of middle elementary school.

However, if you are concerned about that, then don't wear pads. Also, there is a brand that has advertised having a quiet packaging so nobody can hear it. Me, I'm not worried. While it's been eleven months since I had a period (My husband and I were blessed with the news of my pregnancy and even more blessed with her birth two and a half months ago) and likely that it will be awhile until I have one again as I'm breastfeeding, I'm not concerned. I'm woman. These things happen. Now, I will do things like keep my pads and tampons concealed in the bathroom cabinet as people don't need to see them.

However, this is just me. While I'm respectful of others, I also realize that life happens. (I also have no qualms respectfully breastfeeding in public either. I figure my daughter has to eat.)

No, I'm deaf and nobody can hear when I rip my pads open and plus, nobody care about the sound, hearing staff are too busy working or on phone and students are far away in classes, so that doesn't count for me. :-D There's mix of deaf, hard-of-hearing and completly hearing people and kids at my school but they don't care because periods are normal. Can't you spell right?
