about going to the mall...I was allowed to go to malls when I was 12yrs old alone and sometimes with friends but I have my curfew. I have to go back home before 5:30pm. I never lied to my parents about my destinations because something might happen that we don't know. You know, there are things that makes our parents over protective. It can be that they can still see that you're not capable of going out alone yet or even with friends because you still don't have self control especially if you will go with very influencial friends... we to need to understand sometimes our parents when they are over protective. Just don't take it seriously, it doesn't mean that they don't trust you but it's just becaus they love you... they are very aware that teens now a days are very in to the world's pleasures... just relax and do what is right....you'll have your freedom then if you deserve to have it...just enjoy life! there are so many things to do to enjoy life as a teen...not only in malls...God bless you.....

When I was a kid, my Mom would let me stay in the bookstore for a couple of hours or more while she shopped, because she knew I wouldn't go anywhere else. (g) She probably wouldn't dare do that nowadays, with all of these children being kidnapped every time a mother's back is turned.
I think I was about 14 or so when I was allowed to go to a mall by myself. That's because that was the first age at which I had enough money to actually shop.

I'm a parent and I would love it if my daughter went to the mall with her friends because that's what I did. She's 13 and at this age I would go in with her but not hang around with them. As long as we communicate by cell every once in a while I'm cool with it. By 16 she should able to go with her friends and have a good time. Hopefully have a p/t job so she can buy her own stuff

I'm 15 and I wouldn't want to go to a mall by myself. I would much rather have a sibling or friend with me not just for safety but because I'd look like a loner otherwise. I could go by myself if I wanted to, but the problem is I just don't...

I'm 15, girl.
Well, no, my parents won't let me, or they'll call the cops if the found out that I'm alone in public.
Any yes, I would like to shop by myself and go to the movies.
And no, I don't want to cause the public will be staring at me wondering why I'm wondering all by myself.
It feels more secure with just another person tagging along with you although you don't want to.
For security, cash, emergency transportation service =p it's best to have another buddy to go with.
I'll probably be allowed to go out by myself when I'm 18 and dating once I finish studying university.

There are times that my parents didn't let me go. I understood that, and I accepted their means of protection. You know, from kidnapping and such. But one day, I just talked to them about it and proved to them that I was responsible enough to go on my own. And they let me...as long as I was back by the agreed time.
My advice is to do the same. If you are too young, you need to understand your parents. You're a girl, and they are just trying to protect you from many possibilities. You, at least, need to have someone with you.
If you are old enough, let's say 15 or 16, then they should know that you understand the consequences and that you know enough to keep you out of trouble. Just don't lie to them or sneak out or whatever. Still, follow their rules of when to come back home, etc, because trust me, it will be worth it. Some others who didn't do what their parents said had learned the hard way, and you don't want to be one of them.

Well, my parents won't let me go to the mall by myself. My parents are protective. I know, lots of parents are overprotective. But I am allowed to buy things by myself and I am 13. I wish I can go to shopping by myself. Oh, well, I guess I have to deal with it.
