hey, i would just like to know a bit more information on these topics (preferably from someone who lives in california, or has been there):

so right now me and my family live in a house in central london worth an estimated £500,000 which is roughly the equivalent to a million dollars, i think
well if we were to sell the house here and try a new life in CA, would it be easy?
whats the good and bad areas of CA?
gangs, or any violence in a specific area?
and what type of house could one afford for $950,000 in CA?
quality of life?
is CA like the films and tv shows? i.e. The O.C
is it expensive?( i think not compared to london)
Education there, name of a few good colleges, universities?
and in general personal opions on whether i should leave london or not.
If you were in my posiion would you move? considering london is a major city, where house prices are almost doubling each year?
the more info the better!
Thanks, in advance.

I love CA!! I've lived here all my life though. Right now you can get a great home fo $950,000. I live in the SF bay area. I recomend visiting at different times of the year, although the weather is great. There isn't as much rain or cloudyness as in London. Although I've only been to London once it was overcast the whole week I was there. There is a reason they call CA the sunshine state! You need to visit different areas though. Also, visit areas around where you are going to work.

Oh geez where to start. California quite simply has it all. If you like sunny weather and surfing year round, San Diego is the place for you. Palm trees everywhere, beautiful beaches, and Mexico just a few miles away. La Jolla and Del Mar are especially beautiful areas. If you like more city life and culture, San Francisco is the place for you (but it does get cold and rainy). Lots of different ethnicities, food, and culture, great nightlife. LA I would personally avoid because the traffic is horrendous though Long Beach isn't bad. California also has lots of beautiful scenery like the Sierra Nevada mountains near Lake Tahoe (great skiing!), Yosemite National Park, and the rugged northern CA coastline which I personally love because of the kelp forests and abalone diving. Vegas is a fun drive across the desert away. If the sea is your thing, there are tons of whales and sea lions off the coast. You will be able to buy a wonderful house for that money though with the property values dropping, now mightn't be the best time. Your dad might have a tough time in the cleaning business because it is absolutely dominated by Mexicans and cheap labor. So it all depends on what you want, California really has it all. Downsides: The big earthquake is due to hit us at any time and wildfires are rampant due to an ongoing drought, especially in S. California. Also, much more expensive than other states.

Understand that "The O.C." stands for Orange County, which isn't a city, it's an entire county, comprising numerous cities, some rich and some poor. The city you see on the show ("The O.C.") is Newport Beach - and nearby areas along the same stretch of the Orange coast (such as Laguna Beach). Those coastal areas are indeed beautiful and are filled with big homes and wealthy (conservative) people, BUT the large homes there with nice ocean views (such as the Cohen house) sell in the range of $3 million to $20 million. Ditto in Malibu. One million will get you a nice house in most areas, but nothing like the mansions seen in "The O.C." In Newport Beach, you'd be lucky if $1 million bought you a small cottage with no view.

Honestly,
Right now your Pound is kicking the heck out our American dollar. So you are correct that if you exchange your 500,000 pounds it would be close to 1 million us. But things you would lose are socialized health care. You pay 7 pounds for any medicine you want in England. In US and California you pay what the pharmacy tells you to pay. California and London both markets are doubling in prices each year. So that would not change. I believe you get free college in England where in US you have to pay or get a loan for your Education. Yes, some places in CA do look like the TV shows but I guess you can say that about London as well. Oh and the biggest reason why you would probably not want to live here a pint cost $5-$10. Um I like visiting London and enjoying my 2 pound Guinness. Theoretically I am paying the same but it feels nice paying only coins for a beer.

Disability is available in the US anywhere, but it is not an easy process to obtain it.

California is a HUGE state, so you would have a ton of options. There are tons of wonderful communities, great educational opportunities and lots of jobs.

Southern California is like the TV shows in some degree, but remember that is only an hour out of a big chunk of real life. You don't see the wildfires, the horrendous commutes or the crime on Real Housewives of Orange County.

Masturbation is a natural habit with Male teenagers. Female masturbation is called Fingering. First of all you should know that your private part is not made of metal and shall not be used roughly, whenever you want and in whatever manner you want. Continuous masturbation in men will certainly leads to unwanted curvature of penis (it depends on which hand and how much roughly u r using on your private part). Some times, men may fracture their penis due to wrong postures too which becomes a major problem. They may suffer loss of quality sperms in seminal fluid due to excess masturbation. Hence, it is better to put an end to masturbation and control this habit for your future happiness. (In women, their clitoris is the pleasure giving part and highly sensitive one. It looses its sensitivity due to rough use of their fingers on clitoris. Later they may feel lack of pleasure or orgasm in intercourse) As a good suggestion, please keep a K-Y lubricating jelly (which is available in all medical shops) or coconut oil to apply on your penis & palm before masturbation to avoid roughness in friction between palm and the penis. To some extent this will help u avoiding damage to your penis. It is still better if u use a pre-lubricated condoms during masturbation. MASTURBATION ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK IS ACCEPTABLE. Please take care of your penis, as without this vital part you are dead to this world as you cannot enjoy the pleasure of sex. Mind you, Penis is not replaceable by surgery. Hence avoid safeless sex with women of all kinds to avoid getting veneral diseases. POSITIVE EFFECTS OF MASTURBATION Moderate masturbating can actually render positive effects like reducing stress and anxiety and promoting the production of 'endorphin' hormone. Endorphin is considered 'feel good hormones' as it brightens up the mood of an individual. Thus, increased amount of endorphin would mean lively mood and high spirits. Besides, this particular hormone is also said to be beneficial for a man's prostate. Negative Effects of Masturbation Excessive masturbation creates a problem when one reaches a point where he does not have any sperms to ejaculate and thus, blood takes over. It affects orgasm too. Psychologically, it leads to the issue of obsessive compulsive disorder of masturbating all the time with little or no life. The adverse effect on a relationship and the corresponding spouse is rather obvious. TIPS TO QUIT MASTURBATION -Pamper your hobbies by spending more time in doing what you like. Indulge in outdoor activities, adventure sports and other similar activities that can help you keep your mind off from masturbating. -Avoid watching *p-o-r-n movies, sex magazines or any other form of sexual material. -Try to have a busy and tiring schedule so that by the end of the day you can fall asleep early.
