I am my actions and nothing more. We are living in a world that matters not. From nothing we were born, to nothing we shall return.

Think of it in terms of sport, and bare with me, please.

A swimmer breaks a record in the 100m freestyle, and a Baseball player scores a record amount of home runs in one season.

Now, fifty years later, the swimmers record has been beaten multiple times, and is forgotten. The Baseball players record however, has held out and is still unbeaten -critics and commentators still talk about him.

Now, at the time these records were set -both were heralded as great achievements. Yet time has taught us that the swimmers record could be repeated -again and again. The baseball player on the other hand did something that no one could repeat.

Because those of the future know more than those of the present, then they are more qualified to judge their greatness.

i dont think it always works like that, we often recognize greatness in the present sense
we do tend to look to the past, and select some individuals and decide they were great, when we do that we seem to pick up on certain things they did, while ignoring the other, not so great things,
so i guess that would be the major reason that those in the present are not being considered great, we are seeing them more as they are, the positive and the negative, yet when we study history, past lives, often the negative is either left out or hidden,
one example, Thomas Jefferson, who is considered great, had a slave mistress, and children , yet in viewing him, many dont think of that circumstance,

It is the results of your actions that prove the validity of your judgement. Sometimes the results don't become reality until a lot of time has passed.
