If you want to get waived out of taking a foreign language class, you'll need to take a competency test administered by the univeristy/college. (Be sure to pick the one that you're best in) and it'll tell you what level you're on. If you score high enough you could get out of 1-4 required years (depending on if you're going for a B.A or B.S (only two years).

Once you do that however, you still need to take the credits in something else to make up for it. (i.e. 12 credits required in a foreign language for a B.A needs to be spent elsewhere.)
