it looks like 62% of Democrats are honest enough to admit they are insane. 38% are liars.

Conservatism has it's base in optimism, while liberalism is a very pessimistic ideology.

They didn't even invite the GOP to the table. They owned the House, the Senate and the White House. As soon as Scott Brown was elected and the filibusterproof Senate was broken, did the Democrats look to be bipartisan? NO...they backdoored an older version of the bill back thru the House to avoid a Republican from ever laying a pen on it.

Conservativeness is it's own mental disease, one in which ones thinking is so black and white that they rarely admit that they have a problem. It's why republican gays are all in the closet while democratic gays are open about their sexual orientation as one just example.
In other words, I doubt the reported difference in how people report their own mental state reflect an actual difference in mental illness between conservatives and liberals. All this means is that because of black and white thinking of conservatives, they refuse to admit their is a problem when their is one.

Insane people do not think they're insane, in fact, they think everyone ELSE is.
In fact, this sounds like a crtieria to be a Republican. Be nuts, just don't KNOW you're nuts.
You think the Republican who walked into the Clinton Campaign office in my home town considers himself insane? He has even reported he knows there's amicrochip implanted in his head. Does this sound sane to you?
Or how about the HUNDREDS of Republicans in elected office who are so "sane" they find nothing wrong with raping children? Need a link? Here ya go.

The problem with this survey is the definition of mental health. Does one consider Bush to be mentally healthy? Or Cheney? These insane neocons were once dubbed "the crazies" by the more sane members of the politcal elite.

Los Angeles, CA-Psychologists have found a direct correlation between gullibility and people who watch Fox News. 80% of Republicans admit that they watch Fox News, and believe everything they see and hear on that programs, as opposed to 15 % Independents and 0% Democrats.
"The News show, along with much of their programming is not very credible," states rocket scientist Larry Lipshitz (Democrat).
"I love the show, and believe it is all true; even the commercials; I even buy all of the things in the commercials," drools fast food worker Reb Podunk (Republican).

Republicans tend to wish to conform to a standard of "normalcy," while Democrats, who are liberal, are
not afraid to break with society's norms, or to be seen as unusual. People with this mind-set are able to see themselves as part of a group that others might see as "abormal" or marginalized.
Because Democrats do not feel that separated from or different from oppressed or marginalized people, they are more sympathetic toward them, and more likely to want to help them.
It is probably easier for a Democrat to admit that he or she has a few "issues."
When families have difficulty with the idea of being anything other than happy, normal, and good, it is actually more likely that marital problems, drinking, and dysfunctional parent-child relationships will result.

Republicans report themselves as having better mental health than Independents and Democrats. This could be explained by the simple fact that they are self-deluded.
Republicans may be lacking in depth of self-analysis, analytical perspective and introspection. That might also explain their political views.

Being "crazy" in a crazy world is not crazy.
We dems have been pulling our hairs out and feeling the stress and frustration at watching our country be led by idiocity for 6.5 years.
Repubs. are in denial is all I can say. They're content lately since they have controlled the world since 2000.
