I despise christmas. All the kids with a severe case of the gimme gimme's, damn holiday songs playing over and over, the commercialism makes me sick. My family has decided that none of us are exchanging gifts this year. Just a nice family dinner. For once I think we are all looking forward to spending the day together.

It's not I hate Christmas It's the way people force it on to every one with the stuff coming out even before thanksgiving.
It is suppose to be a day of joy but I think of all the poor folks that have no money to buy things for their family and or friends,I wonder How can this be a happy time for them
I dont hate christmass just on to what it has been chaged into.

Not really, I love the holiday, the way it gets a family together but I hate the arguments and the fights before Christmas. I hate the fact that everyone nowadays thinks only for presents.
Christmas should be about being with the one you love not about how many presents and Christmas cards will you get!

You must have to deal with a bunch of crap just like me. Family and presents and everybody telling you crap you don't want to hear and getting together with 2 different families at the same time and having to drive in 2 different directions and so on and so on. Yeah, all that sucks. But the time spent alone at home with the wife and 2 kids is going to be priceless!!! Hopefully it will be more than just sleeping in late and actually have some together awake time. Good luck to you this year and may your memory not be as bad as the years before.

I can tell you if I didn't have kids I wouldn't be doing Christmas.
I will still be going to Christmas eve mass but the rest I can live without.
My Mum was the one that made Christmas special and since she's not here anymore it doesn't interest me.

Lotsa people, but not as many as claim to. Christmas, I think, is primarily for the children and I've never met one who didn't think it was the "bestest" time of the year. the commercialism definitely sucks, but it's still a time of wonderment and love for many, especially the kids.
