Funny. I'm sitting here drinking my first cup of coffee for the morning and getting ready to light up! I suppose non-smokers can definitely enjoy the coffee without the nicotine but for those of us with the "bad habit"..well I guess it's a completely different story..they just seem to go hand in hand. Probably a mind over matter thing but I have to have both..I think!

I grew up in a very small town and High School was were all the activity was except for getting drunk and making out. I even did some of that at school. LOL It's hard to believe I survived High School and I was an "A" Student. School is were Girls were and were I played Football so I had a blast. It didn't hurt that by the time I started High school my Dad had quit drinking (He was one of the worst alcoholics I have ever seen) . Mom was still a pain but Dad and I became best friends, So I guess my view of my High school years is a little biased. The School Dances were big events in a small town that had one movie theater with just one screen, no fast food restaurants and no malls. We didn't get Rock Concerts coming within 150 miles so I didn't see my first Live Concert until I went away to college unless you count local bands playing at the Dances.

Yes I can, I smoked for 30 years and first thing in the morning I had to have both first thing in the morning. I quit smoking 3 years ago in February. Coffee tasted different for a while but then I got used to that and now I can still enjoy my coffee in the morning.

Yes, I hate cigarettes. Can't be in the same room as a smoker. The smell is terrible. Even the aroma of coffee can't camoflage it.

I hate coffee, I only drink it at work to stay awake, even then it has to be all done up with cream & sugar. As far as a ciggarrete goes, they're one of the most disgusting things on earth; eating road kill tastes better than those things.

Absolutely! Back in the day however, we would start the day with coffee and a herbal cig, then consume all the things on GEM's list in one sitting!!!! Oh the lost days of youth in the 60's! peace
