Give me some tips! I am in London, but want to go somewhere away from shpping centres, crowds, stress.

The City of London's a lot quieter at the weekend. Hop on a bus or underground to somewhere like Blackfriars, Mansion House or Bank and just walk. There are alleys and lanes all around the City and just wandering through those can be a voyage of discovery in itself. Old churches, pubs (unfortunately not open in the City at weekends), blue plaques, livery companies, old road names from stories and nursery rhymes.
And the beauty of the City is it's only a square mile so even if you think you're lost you can't stay lost for long.

You'd be amazed how with a bit of personal effort you can insulate yourself from the crowds around you. Public places can be very lonely. Just stop, sit down and gaze aimlessly that sort of thing...

Anyway first choice is one of London's many parks. How about Hampstead Heath or Golders Hill Park? Get on your bike, go jogging, or just walking, take pictures etc... There is a small observatory near the Whitestone pond. If the night is clear, as it may well be tonight, come around and watch the night sky with us.

Not clear if you are just visiting but if you live here, get yourself an allotment.

Read a good book or go to a big bookshop and immerse yourself. Go to the movies...

Even during the winter London's parks and open spaces are beautiful and full of wildlife. Try Hampstead Heath, Kew Gardens or Richmond Park

Try catching a play to watch..... go to coffee cafe and relax there.... walk around town or park... try something new fun and exciting. Hope it helps considering I am not from London and never been there.
