This weekend I'll be sweeping the acorns off my front sidewalk, scrubbing the chairs and tables on my front porch and patio, putting my fall decorations away, and taking down the containters with my Advent and Christmas decorations.

I remember when I was kid that the adults would do their fall and spring cleaning, put up storm windows, put on snow tires. My mom is still far more regimented than I am.

What chores do you do when the seasons change?

Leaves, Lawn furniture, ornaments hoses, summer equipment (mowers etc ) back of storage area. Winterize boat motor and store, winterize autos, put plow on yard tractor, change oil and plugs in snow blower and yard tractor and install chains. Screens out, storms in windows and house 'breathing' areas. Have furnish inspected.

Here in southest Texas I don't have any leaves to rake or sweep up. I mostly have Palm trees. I just take down my fall wreath and put up my Christman one. I too cleaned my chairs on the patio. I still have a lot of blooming plants so the yard still looks nice. I remember when I lived in Indiana years ago there was the taking down screens and putting up storm windows and all of that winter preparing stuff to do. I have the a/c on today and I have my ceiling fans as well. Winter is not winter here.

I get the garden cleaned out, put away the hoses and winterize the lawn mower, cover the bird cage with plastic, put a few plants back in the greenhouse and get the heater ready. Today I'm going to dust off the snow shovel and put it to use. So far there is 6 inches of snow on the ground.

I put the shrink film on the inside of all the windows and patio door. Clean the leaves out of the gutters. Put away the deck furniture. Get the rakes put away and take out the shovels and the salt for the sidewalk. Get stuff out of the outside shed that freezes and bring it inside. It lives behind the loveseat in the winter. Paint etc.

I get into a cleaning mood. I have cleaned out a closet and storage area that I have not done anything with for about 4 years. The garbage container was full and so was my car for donations. It felt great, as I am not a collector of anything. I probably get rid of too much, but I love to see empty spaces in my cupboard. I was so proud of my closet, then my daughter noticed there were empty places, and down came her artwork supplies that she did not have enough room for in her closet. There went my extra space. I also like to do a good wash of the curtains in the living room and want to shampoo the carpeting sooner or later. I also have an urge to paint, but I will have to see what happens with that one.

Make sure I have enough salt for my side walk, put the shovel where I can get it to clean off the porch, and sidewalk. Make sure my winter coat is ready to put on. Go through the cupboards and then go to the store to have all the backup food in case I get snowed in. ( I have a 1/2 mile lane ) Have books handy, and gas in the truck .

I usually have my studded tires put on the car but the last couple years there has been no snow here in the valley. I don't have outside chores any more so my mess is swapping around clothes and shoes. I do cleaning all the time so that is ongoing.

I bring all my garden hoses inside, close the vents around the outside of my house, bring in my patio furniture cushions and anything else that won't survive well in Indiana winter including my glass humming bird feeders and my rain guage. And, I put a new filter in my furnace and cover my outside central air unit. And, I take my vehicle to be serviced to make sure it has enough anti freeze. I didn't realize how long my list was. LOL

In north Florida we just move medium weight jackets to the middle of the closet. Have sheets ready for the few nights it gets down to freezing for the tropical plants on the porch. We cleaned the pool and winterized it.

WOW...what busy bees you all are !!! all I do is, apart from usual cleaning is too clear the leaves...mind you where I am it's a constant battle with just those, and as far as the swapping of clothes go I dont really have to swap them, here in the UK the tempreture does'nt change to drastically here I don't think, so I just get out a winter jacket
