joe c is right on. Think of this from the Muslim point of view. The core belief of Islam is absolutely no idol worship and positively, absolutely no worship of Mohammad. And this woman makes an idol bear, names him Mohammad, and uses it to "teach" young Muslim children. I am amazed at the leniency!
If the British want to enhance their image in the world they might institute requiring people to pass an IQ test before they are allowed out of the country.
BTW I am not Muslim.

I suspect that the actions of the Sudanese are based on a global hatred of anyone that challenges or interferes with the validity of Islam. It has nothing to do with a silly little bear and a name .... that's totally irrational ..... but it does illustrate a deep hatred for others that may not agree with this irrationality ... and that includes Britain. It is much, much more than a simple ( perceived ) insult to Allah ..... it is the need to hold power over the non-Islamics of this world and I truly fear that the term 'Holy Wars' may be something that we all come to fear in the future. Globally, the world may be advancing but some still remain in the dark ages of true understanding of peace and serenity and this is what we are seeing here. There is no other explanation for it.

She should have known better. If you go to a country you should respect their religion and customs. I am a white, non-religious, man living in the U.K and even I know that you cant go around Muslim countries calling things Mohamed without causing offence.
I also cant help wondering what the Daily Mail would say if a Sudanese immigrant teacher called a toy pig Jesus in a class of 7 year olds.
obviously the calls for her execution are very excessive but I think that the way it has been dealt with is actually pretty sensible buy the Sudanese court. she gets a short sentence, justice is seen to be done and the Islamic clerics are satisfied.
Baically its her own stupid fault

It's a combination of both.
With a different nationality, there would still be anger, but her being British, in the current climate in the Middle East, has just inflamed an already tense situation.

I think the Sudanese Government are taking the opportunity to use Mrs Gibbons as a scapegoat to have a dig at the British Government.

Perhaps if these people stopped waving their swords and knives about and did some work for their Country, it might save us some money. They are very good at leaning on other people for handouts. As for talking about execution for this Lady, that shows what type of people they are. Religious fanatics.

They are only based on a fanatical regime that should be rejected by every possible means. As a practising Christian I find that most Muslims in the UK are peace loving.

It's extremely difficult to work out the motives of people who appear to be completely deranged. I suspect it's political but I don't see any logic in it considering how much money the UK gives to Sudan.

It's based on her being a white christian british woman. Any combination of those four words throws alot of African Muslims into a state of salivating demon orgy of blood lust.

I think it is because she is British. The Muslims want to control UK USA and everywhere else, and by KILLING an innocent school teacher, they believe that that can control by scaring us.
Religion is after all a form of control.
