I don't go to sporting events that often but I've hardly ever attended any wearing footwear. PE was normally taught barefoot in school (barefoot mandatory inside, footwear optional outside), so any PE lessons as well as school sport days I was always barefoot. For the past ten years I'm always barefoot and while I don't do much sports I've done some hiking and running and such. I also remember taking my shoes off when visiting a cross-country (horses) on a hot summer day before my regular barefooting days; the trails for the visitors were very soft and well-kept so even though I wasn't barefoot normally yet I took my shoes off there and walked the entire day barefoot without any trouble.

no, unless playing beach volleyball barefoot counts... but my brother did go to the Ravens vs Vikings game in flipflops on Christmas(2005) and he froze during the whole game... finallly at the start of the 3rd quarter i gave him my socks so that he would shut up and enjoy the rest of the game
