As a native Belgian who has lived 31 years in Norway, I think I can answer your question objectively.
The history of Norway is somewhat similar to that of Ireland. Both countries were under foreign dominion until the last century. Norway was Danish from the 15th century to 1814. From then and until 1905, it was Swedish.
It's geography, while beautiful to the tourist's eyes, is harsh and made everyday's life a struggle for it's population of poor farmers and fishermen. Half of it immigrated to the USA one hundred years ago.
Because they have very little social class differences and they have a harsh climate, the Norwegians are easy-going and informal. They are less individualist than most Latin Europeans and they view politics in a more tolerant way.
Lately, they were fortunate to profit from the income of the oil resources found in the North Sea.
All this is probably what contributed to have the United Nation to proclaim for several years in a row that Norway was the best country to live in. (see the link below)

I am Norwegian, we are white, good looking, violent and we like to read the newspaper by candlelight. We also paint our houses with primary colors only.

In my family it is quick wit, large breasts, and light hair, and a robust active life! Many are hard workers, and very fun to be around!
